When you're a liberal president and you've lost ol' Noam...

Noam Chomsky, the road-worn, notorious American-hating professor from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology must have Liberals spinning in their graves and/or desks of bureaucracy.

During a recent interview, Chomsky does the unthinkable: He asserts that Sarah Palin was right about Barack Obama and his "Hope & Change" promises.



Ouch.

"Those are horrible words!...except when our friends use them."

Without wading too far into the mess that Rush Limbaugh made for himself, let's look at the amazing (but not surprising) double standard that exists for those on the Left.

The video clip at the bottom of this post - produced by SHE PAC - pays particular attention to "comedian" Bill Maher - a loathsome fellow, really - who has practically made a career out of being a Republican-hating misogynist. (He also made news, recently, by donating $1 million to the president's Super PAC.)

President Obama's Super PAC, as well as current and former aides, have rejected giving Maher's money back. Who said you can't buy loyalty?

Funny (not), how the president feels compelled to call a political/legal activist after she's called inappropriate names, yet he doesn't even think twice about ignoring "victims" when his own buddies say much, much worse.

As George Orwell wrote in "Animal Farm" - "All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others."

Bonus: Apparently, the "get Rush" strategy is starting to have some blowback for the White House...

And they call that other network "unfair and biased"

So someone with a different opinion is now a "wingnut?"

According to CNN Money’s headline -- above an analysis of GOP positions on debt-ceiling increases by reporter Jeanne Sahadi -- is the term, "wingnuts."

As we all know, that's purely objective, unbiased reporting/terminology.

They're suffering from P.D.S. - Palin Derangement Syndrome

Not since the days of the George W. Bush administrations have we seen such a large segment of the left come unglued.

Following the tragic shootings in Arizona this past weekend, the left went into overdrive as it rushed to blame former Alaska Gov./GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin for the heinous crimes.

Pundits and pols rushed headlong to a verdict that had Palin guilty as an accomplice for having motivated a crazed gunman to kill and wound nearly two dozen innocent people - including a Democratic Congresswoman, Gabrielle Giffords, who is recovering in hospital from a bullet to the brain.

Political and ideological opponents whipped themselves into a frenzy, saying that her website - which had placed rifle scope crosshairs over Democratic seats contested in the then-coming November elections - had managed to push some sort of "Manchurian Candidate" type of buttons setting off the killer.

After a brief period, it was learned that the murderer wasn't interested in politics. He was merely a seemingly insane person who set upon the Congresswoman as she publicly met some of her constituents. The fact that she was a Democrat, that Palin had opposed her and that the former governor's website "targeted" Giffords' seat for the GOP had absolutely zero to do with the shooter's behaviors. He was a troubled young man who was able to obtain a firearm; he sought out an authority figure; and he did everything he could to kill that person...and it wouldn't have mattered one iota what Giffords did or didn't vote for in Congress.

Surely over the next few months, as Giffords and the other victims struggle to recover, as their families and the families of the murdered come to grips with last weekend's events, most of us will learn just how the killer morphed into the creature he became; and we'll continue to pray for all who have suffered.

What we will also continue to learn is not just how wrong many of the extremists were in projecting their beliefs and prejudices onto the tragedy, but also how difficult it is for them to deal with truth as they struggle to remain glued to their false narratives.

Strange, a certain shooter we've heard a lot about lately also had trouble dealing with reality...

Even the "pros" (aka: the media) have never been able to help themselves...

(For the record, I'm neither a Palin fan nor am I a detractor...just a disinterested observer.)

News item: Congress Approves Child Nutrition Bill - WASHINGTON — Congress gave final approval on Thursday to a child nutrition bill that expands the school lunch program and sets new standards to improve the quality of school meals, with more fruits and vegetables. Michelle Obama lobbied for the bill as a way to combat obesity and hunger. About half of the $4.5 billion cost is financed by a cut in food stamps starting in several years. Mrs. Obama said she was thrilled by passage of what she described as a groundbreaking piece of legislation.

While it seems that a bill to reduce obesity - specifically among youth - would be a laudable goal, there are some elements of the typically "fattened-up" bill that have more than a few folks unhappy with it.

According to another report, "Some, and not just the big mama grizzly [meaning Sarah Palin, who came out against the proposed law], fault the bill as being too restrictive because it eliminates not only junk food sold regularly in school, but also limits school fundraisers," according to ABC. Alexa Marrero, spokeswoman for House Education and Labor committee Republicans is quoted as saying, the new rules 'wouldn’t just apply to school meals but things like bake sales that are also used as fundraisers, or concessions sold at sporting events.'”

Ms. Obama's campaign to help America eat and exercise its way to healthiness is a step in the right direction. Americans of all ages are heavier and less physically active than ever - and it's getting worse by the day. The associated costs for everything from healthcare to industrial redesign are a huge burden on the nation's economy. But if we're going to work on improving the nation's collective waistline, blood pressure, etc., let's do it the right way and target the real sources of the overall problem.

Otherwise, the next thing you know even holiday treats might end up on some "watch list."

FIFA=FAIL (part 348): FIFA – the despotic/idiotic ruling body for international soccer (including the current World Cup) has blown another call. According to the Wall Street Journal, “FIFA will censor World Cup match action being shown on giant screens inside the stadium after replays of Argentina's disputed first goal against Mexico fueled arguments on the pitch.” So FIFA decides not to use video replay to judge crucial calls and decides to censor stadium scoreboard replays so that their officials don’t come under criticism. That sounds just about right, considering the source of the decision.

FIFA=FAIL (part 349): So the argument against any instant replay is that it will take the game down a “slippery slope?” I can understand that. I mean, who wants a game with integrity…right, FIFA?

It doesn’t look like the Al Gore’s masseuse-assault allegations problem is going to have a happy ending…

Massachusetts politician, then: “Err, ah, err, ah…bring me another Chivas and let's pass health care reform.” Massachusetts politician, now: “Er, ah, bring me another tube of Crest and some bail money.”



Nurses, then: “We need this health bill!” Nurses, now: “This is the worst thing, ever!”
