CNBC: Mixing racism and business...

Every so often, that hidden side rears its ugly head...

CNBC host Steve Liesman decided to let loose on U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz today (R-TX). Liesman said that the recent (poor) jobs report was the Texas senator/Tea Party favorite's fault. So, he launched into the segment by mocking a photo of Cruz, and then uttered a racist quip. (For the record, Liesman's request for "Mexican music" was not only racist, it was factually wrong. You see, Cruz isn't of Mexican descent. He's a Cuban-American.

Imagine what would've happened if a conservative had made an ugly comment in the vein Liesman did. That person would've been pink-slipped by the Mother Ship (NBC - a wholly owned subsidiary of the White House) and run out of town on a rail.

As a wise man once said, "Stupid is as stupid does."

Here comes the boom? - Dear Mr. President and Vice President: Remember when you poo-poo'd Iran's nuclear build-up? Check out this nifty little graph --

So what does it mean? It means, "Iranian scientists have run computer simulations for a nuclear weapon that would produce more than triple the explosive force of the World War II bomb that destroyed Hiroshima, according to a diagram obtained by The Associated Press." So, yeah...nothing to worry about here.

Your tax dollars at work! - "Head of Fed Dept. Wasted Thousands in SUV Rental for Three Block Drive." Apparently, a big wig over at the Federal Maritime Commission spent more than $1,600 a month for a 2011 Chevy Tahoe, fully loaded with leather seats and GPS. The agency also spent up to $75 an hour for a staff member to drive the vehicle in the nation's capital -- to avoid a three block walk. (Video below.)

"California's economy remains shaky" -- Let's see...higher taxes, burdensome regulations, a lawsuit happy state...gee, ya think?

Touchy, touchy...

Before he made his way west to California (aka: the Democratic Party's ATM), President Barack Obama gave a few interviews.

In this particular sit-down, he did with a Texas station (below), the president not only got some key historical facts wrong, but he also had a few choice (read: cranky) remarks for the interviewer.

After watching it, you've got to wonder, "Does the president actually know any American history? How could he think that 'Texas has always been a pretty Republican state, for, you know, historic reasons.' Does he have any idea that it was the Democratic Party that dominated the South from the 1830s up until the 1970s and 80s? Does he know which party dominated the Confederacy and the Jim Crow South?"
