CNBC: Mixing racism and business...

Every so often, that hidden side rears its ugly head...

CNBC's Steve Liesman.

CNBC host Steve Liesman decided to let loose on U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz today (R-TX). Liesman said that the recent (poor) jobs report was the Texas senator/Tea Party favorite's fault. So, he launched into the segment by mocking a photo of Cruz, and then uttered a racist quip. (For the record, Liesman's request for "Mexican music" was not only racist, it was factually wrong. You see, Cruz isn't of Mexican descent. He's a Cuban-American.

Imagine what would've happened if a conservative had made an ugly comment in the vein Liesman did. That person would've been pink-slipped by the Mother Ship (NBC - a wholly owned subsidiary of the White House) and run out of town on a rail.

As a wise man once said, "Stupid is as stupid does."

We rest our case...

New information on the IRS scandal

After months of digging, toiling, and hectoring, it appears we are now on-track to learn what the IRS (reportedly at the behest/direction of the White House) did to harass Tea Party members, conservatives, Republicans, and their respective donors.

And we'll learn why.

And we'll learn who was behind it...all.

Just remember -- these things take time.

Here we go...

Bill Maher: something's missing there...

...by the way, he's an idiot.

In the video below (courtesy of NewsBusters), George Clooney - often regarded as a liberal - sets Maher straight.

Here's the exchange from the transcript (the two are delving into Clooney's pet issue, Darfur) :

MAHER, HOST: So, you know, we have Rob Reiner on this time, and I've hit one of his big issues is gay marriage. He's not gay that we know. This is a big issue with you so that you're not Sudanese.

GEORGE CLOONEY: No.

MAHER: I think this is a big difference between liberals and conservatives. You know, I don't think conservatives are bad people. I think they have a hard time being empathetic to people who are not like them at all.

CLOONEY: Okay, now wait. I’ll tell you why, hang on a minute though. I'll tell you why that's not necessarily true. Because this movement, the Sudanese movement, Darfur, the north-south agreement were really truly embraced by the Right even more so than the Left.

So there you have it. Another example of Maher's intellectual dishonesty, laziness and shortcomings on display for all the world to see.

(Kudos to Clooney, a man who doesn't see eye-to-eye with many conservatives on various issues, for having the guts and integrity to call it like it is...)

Sighting the (Young) Guns...

Tonight, as Tea Party candidates surge to victories in New York and Delaware, it increasingly looks like pollsters, pundits and other insiders who are betting on the GOP taking back the House will have guessed correctly.

A new book, "Young Guns: A New Generation of Conservative Leaders," has hit the shelves - and airwaves (a la PR tours) - and it's making a lot of noise for its authors: Congressmen Paul Ryan (R-Wisconsin), Eric Cantor (R-Virginia) and Kevin McCarthy (R-California).

The authors have positioned themselves as the rightful heirs to the Reagan Revolution and their friends in the media on the right side of the aisle are doing their best to reinforce that for them.

Below is an interesting take on the phenomenon by my friend, colleague and host of the John Batchelor Show, John Batchelor...

One thing is for sure - this coming election isn't going to be just a historic event...it's also going to be very, very interesting...

Charting differences

Just a brief posting here...

I found the above and wanted to get it out into the blogosphere ASAP. It's a pretty dead-on, non-partisan depiction of the differences between liberals and conservatives.
