Now here’s a shocker: “Security slip let bomb suspect on plane - Faisal Shahzad, who admitted rigging SUV with explosives in Times Square, eluded authorities and then boarded Dubai flight despite being on no-fly list.” Thank God they’re on the job!...
Add bomber news: “Huffington Post burned by its own Facebook journalism.” Since when was the HuffPo ever confused with journalism?...
Last add SUV bomber story: According to House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.): “Democrats are more successful at fighting terrorists than the GOP.” Hmm, let’s see – there was the attack on the recruiting center in Arkansas; the Fort Hood massacre; the underwear bomber; and Saturday night’s Times Square incident. Thank God they’re on the job!...

Something you won’t hear Kanye West say: “The president hates country music fans.” (Well, maybe Kanye would.) Strange when you think one of America’s big cities is under several feet of water, 29 people have died because of the flooding (the same number of coal miners who died a couple weeks ago – remember how that number dominated headlines?), and there’s relatively little coverage in the media. I wonder why…

Too busy surfing? – According to the Los Angeles Times, “Malibu lags on census returns: The Daily News is reporting that only 58 percent of Malibu residents mailed back their census forms by the deadline: While Malibu has the lowest return rate on the Los Angeles County mainland, its residents performed better than those who live in Avalon. Just 43 percent of those living on the Catalina Island's only city mailed in their forms. So far, the return rates are 70 percent for Los Angeles County, 71 percent for California and 72 percent for the nation"...
From The Bliss Index’s sports desk (LAObserved.com): “'Los Suns' to protest Arizona immigration law - For tomorrow's NBA playoff game, the Phoenix Suns will wear jerseys that rephrase the team name into Spanish: Los Suns. In a news release, owner Robert Sarver said "our players and organization felt that wearing our 'Los Suns' jerseys on Cinco de Mayo was a way for our team and our organization to honor our Latino community and the diversity of our league, the State of Arizona, and our nation … " He went on to call the state law "flawed" and added "our basic principles of equal rights and protection under the law are being called into question." The Suns, of course, will have a representational number of Latino players on the court for the game. Oh, wait…they don’t have any Latino players? Oh, never mind…
