The Not-So-Affordable Care Act...

"We have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in it." -- Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D- CA) on the run-up to the Affordable Care Act's passage.

Ouch (times two) -- and that's just the beginning...

Getting schooled...

In this so-called "debate" about austerity and the-mess-that-is-Detroit, Charles Krauthammer hands a know-nothing Keynesian lib (Sally Kohn) her...backside.

Really, Ms. Kohn...you shouldn't engage in a battle of wits when you're unarmed.

Mission accomplished/promise fulfilled?

On Detroit and bankruptcy...

From the Washington Examiner: On October 13, 2012, President Obama boasted to Americans in his weekly address that he refused to “let Detroit go bankrupt.” “[W]e refused to throw in the towel and do nothing,” Obama said. “We refused to let Detroit go bankrupt, I bet on American workers, and American ingenuity and three years later that bet is paying off in a big way.” Of course Obama was referring to the auto industry – alluding to Mitt Romney’s unfortunate New York Times op-ed headline from 2008. With the news of Detroit filing for bankruptcy today, his line takes on new meaning.

That's some fine, fine work you're doing there!

New information on the IRS scandal

After months of digging, toiling, and hectoring, it appears we are now on-track to learn what the IRS (reportedly at the behest/direction of the White House) did to harass Tea Party members, conservatives, Republicans, and their respective donors.

And we'll learn why.

And we'll learn who was behind it...all.

Just remember -- these things take time.

Here we go...

Courage personified.

There is hope...

Malala Yousafzai has she will not be silenced by terrorist threats, in an address to the United Nations on her 16th birthday that was her first public speech since being shot by the Taliban.

“Let us pick up our books and pens,” said the Pakistani teenager, who was shot in the head by a Taliban gunman as she left school last October. “They are our most powerful weapons. One child, one teacher, one pen and one book can change the world. Education is the only solution.” (More here...)

"Low-Information Voters"

This is what happens when you combine a failed education system, a culture of entitlement, and a cult of personality...

According to Power Line Blog, activist Mark Dice walked up and down a beach in California that he thought would be thick with Obama voters. He carried a clipboard with a petition to repeal the Bill of Rights and asked passers-by to support Obama by signing the petition. He kept up a patter about how the Bill of Rights is outdated and Obama has been doing all he can to get rid of it. "

The blog points out that, "Almost everyone he stopped signed the petition."

"Inside baseball"...

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) gives a speech...references the "National Mets."

Maybe someone should give ol' Harry another shot of Geritol.

Of course, ol' Harry could be taking a cue from the late "Lion of the Senate," Teddy Kennedy...

Let's hear it for "Mike McGwire and Sammy Sooser!"

Finally...a traffic/speed camera we can all get behind!

A lot of negative things have been said and written about these government-sponsored highway robbers -- some examples: Ohio Judge Orders Traffic Cameras ConfiscatedRED LIGHT CAMERAS: The Price We Pay For Riskier IntersectionsTHEY CALL THEM “REVENUE CAMERAS” FOR A REASON: Single District speed camera: 116,734 tickets worth $11.6 million Red-Light Cameras See Cities’ Support Fading. Trust us, the list of complaints goes on, and on, and on...

Perhaps if municipalities had more cameras like the one below, folks wouldn't mind them so much.
